Over 150 people infected with COVID-19 hospitalized in medical institutions in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 12 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Over 150 people infected with COVID-19 are hospitalized in medical institutions in the capital. Head of the General Directorate of Medical and Social Assistance Boris Gîlca made the statement at today's operative meeting of the municipal services.

25 of the patients are in serious condition. "Last week there was no death. At the same time, 1,246 people with mild or medium forms are treated at home. COVID-19 manifests itself in outbreaks at certain times. Specialists propose that it be qualified as a seasonal infection. However, the virus remains as dangerous for health, especially for people who also suffer from other diseases", said Boris Gîlca.

Specialists recommend citizens to get vaccinated, wear protective masks in crowded public spaces and public transport. Also, wearing it in medical institutions is mandatory.

Also this week, 2,163 emergency requests were registered. Following the provision of first aid, 1,845 people were hospitalized.
