Moldovan government's secretary general meets new director of Swiss Cooperation Office in Moldova

Chisinau, 12 September /MOLDPRES/ - The sustainable partnership between Moldova’s cabinet and the Swiss Cooperation Office continues. Government’s Secretary General Dumitru Udrea has discussed with the new director of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Moldova, Guido Beltrani, the government’s communication and protocol department reported.      

The priority subjects on the common agenda were the support provided to the Diaspora Relations Bureau (BRD) at the State Chancellery, reform of the public administration, development of the local economy and cooperation with foreign partners.   

„Moldova’s government appreciates the projects carried out so far with the support of the Swiss Cooperation Office. I am sure that we will have, in continuation an intense cooperation in the Diaspora sector, the one of public administration reform and, certainly, the participation in the development of local communities,’’ Dumitru Udrea said.      

„For my part, I want to assure you that, in the next four years, which represents the duration of my mandate of director of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Moldova, we are open to continue our projects. Moreover, to strengthen them and work together on key fields you have mentioned,’’ Guido Beltrani said.   

The new head of the Swiss Cooperation Office has a rich experience in the East European region, earlier working in such countries as Kosovo, Poland and Ukraine.     

Within the Programme titled, Turning to account of the migration potential in Moldova, backed by Switzerland, the State Chancellery, through the Diaspora Relations Bureau, manages the project titled, Consolidation of Moldova’s institutional framework in the migration and development sector. The project’s implementation started in 2015 and will be finished in December 2022. Switzerland provided its support to BRD for the next years as well.
