Moldovan deputy PM, ambassador of Georgia discuss Transnistrian settlement subject

Chisinau, 13 September /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian today had a meeting with Ambassador of Georgia to Moldova Levan Diasamidze, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.     

The officials tackled the subject on regional security, taking into account the peculiarities of the unsettled territorial conflicts on the territory of both countries, the security risks entailed by the war in Ukraine, as well as the humanitarian efforts made to help refugees from the neighbor country.    

The sides also emphasized the importance of deepening the cooperation within the present partnerships between Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine, including in order to advance on the way of European integration and of strengthening the statehood.    

The officials discussed aspects on the Transnistria-related issues and noted some priority directions of action on this file, such as: providing of quality public services to the residents from both banks of Dniester, ensuring the observance of the human rights (property, education in the mother language, free expression, etc.), removing the unjust obstacles to the free movement, access to the farmlands from the Dubasari district, single commercial and economic area, etc.  

The interlocutors backed the joint approach as to the fact that the territorial conflict need to be settled exclusively by peaceful and political means, with the observance of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova and Georgia.
