Deputy premier meets French Development Agency regional director

Chisinau, 14 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration talked with Cécile Couprie, Regional Director of the French Development Agency /AFD/. The officials approached the accelerated implementation of some initiatives to support Moldova in order to be able to face the impact of the Russian war of aggression on Ukraine more easily, the MAEIE press service has reported.
In the new regional context, cooperation with AFD in the railway and energy sectors and obtaining concrete results have become more urgent. A partnership is being developed between Moldelectrica and French counterparts of RTE France (Réseau de Transport d'Électricité) to strengthen the high-voltage electricity network in Moldova to the European ENTSO-E network, as well as a project to identify and prioritize the necessary investments to improve the national railway system.
"European development means mobilizing the support of strategic partners in priority areas and the long-term improvement of our country's infrastructure," the official said.
