Moldovan state to grant monthly allowance of 1,000 lei for all children up to two years of age

Chisinau, 14 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Starting from 1 October the state will provide a monthly allowance of 1,000 lei for each child, regardless of whether the parents are insured or not. The social protection, health and family committee of the Parliament approved today the report on the draft law to amend the Law on social benefits for children.

The document sees that in the case of uninsured persons, who currently benefit from allowance for child care up to the age of two worth 740 lei per month for each child, this allowance will be increased by 260 lei. The insured persons who currently benefit from an allowance in the amount of 30% of the calculation basis established according to the Law on allowances for temporary incapacity for work and other social insurance benefits will benefit from an additional 1000 lei per month.

The draft law will be put to the vote during the plenary session of the Parliament.
