wage classes of more categories of public sector employees to be increased in Moldova

Chisinau, 14 September /MOLDPRES/ - The employees from the public authorities will benefit from an additional increase in salary, for the direct involvement in the fulfillment of the tasks, in the context of the requirements of accession to the European Union. The provision is contained in the draft on amendment of the law on the single salary payment system, approved by the cabinet today.   

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the size of the increase will be up to 75 per cent of the basic salary. The exact quantum will be established by the head of the public authority.    

Also, the government will increase the wage classes of the social assistant and the professional parental assistant, with secondary vocational education, of the support teacher, speech therapist, pedagogue, psychologist and special psycho-pedagogue. The amendment is proposed, in order to involve these employees in the providing of social assistance to people, in the context of the energy vulnerability.

At the same time, the cabinet approved the increase in the wage classes of the adviser for the settlement of claims at the National Agency for  Settlement of Claims, judicial expert and the head of laboratory from the National Centre of Judicial Expertises, as well as the drivers employed at the vehicle fleet of the State Chancellery. The changes are needed, in order to ensure a salary fit to the responsibilities.     

The new salary payment rules will enter into force as of 1 September. To this end, expenses worth 9 million lei are to be made in the state budget in 2022 and about 35.9 million lei – next year. 

This amendment of the law does not imply its full revision, but only certain adjustings. The Finance Ministry works on the improvement of the Law No 270/2018, which will enter into force in 2023.
