Reunion of Romanian National Theaters inaugurated in Chisinau

Chisinau, 16 Sep. /MOLDPRES/ - At Mihai Eminescu National Theatre, the 7th edition of the Reunion of Romanian National Theaters was inaugurated yesterday evening, due on 15-28 September, Artists for peace, freedom, hope.

Attending the event, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița said that this week is full of cultural events.

According to the official, theatrical art has a universal language and knows no borders. It is also a form of combat that is as delicate as it is powerful. "I am sure that the play - Capcana will prove to us that democracy is stronger than dictatorship, that lies will always pale in front of the truth, and that cultured people need freedom of expression, tranquility and peace in their creative process", the official said.

Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan said that it is the first time that all the national theaters from the Republic of Moldova and Romania participate in the Reunion, and Minister of Culture from Romania Lucian Romașcanu said that this Reunion has completed its seven years from home with the joys of rigor, and now he can grow, reach maturity.

The event is organized with the support of the Ministries of Culture from Romania and the Republic of Moldova, the Romanian Cultural Institute in Bucharest and Chisinau, and the Swiss Cooperation Office in Moldova. For the second consecutive year, the event enjoys the honor of the high presidential patronage granted by presidents of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu and Romania Klaus Iohannis.
