2022-2023 hunting season opened

Chisinau, 20 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- The General Police Inspectorate (IGP) announced today the opening of the 2022-2023 hunting season. Hunting will be allowed only on open lands, outside the forest fund.

According to the decision of the Commission for Emergency, hunting is allowed for species of hunting interest, within the limits of the quotas approved for this season. At the same time, shooting and carrying a loaded weapon will be prohibited at a distance of less than 10 km from the state border with Ukraine, as well as at a distance of less than 2 km from the outskirts of the municipalities of Chisinau and Balti, the security zone with the region Transnistrian and 1 km from the outskirts of any other localities.

Also, it is forbidden to shoot and be with a loaded weapon at a distance of less than 5 km from military units, training centers of the National Army and strategic objectives: Chisinau International Airport, Mărculești International Airport, Balti International Airport and Cahul International Airport.

At the same time, during the state of emergency, it is forbidden for foreign citizens to bring weapons and ammunition into the country for their participation in hunting.

The law enforcement officers warned that any type of hunting or attempt to hunt during the state of emergency, which contravenes the provisions, is considered poaching and is punished according to the law. The police recommend that participants in the hunt strictly follow the rules of behavior and carrying and using the weapon.
