Moldova to fulfill with much responsibility conditions of accession set forth by EU

Chisinau, 20 September /MOLDPRES/ - The ambitious reforms, among which the public administration reform and the adjusting and updating of the public policies are on the government’s agenda as priorities for the carrying out of the package of conditions in nine key fields of Moldova’s development, mentioned by the European Commission with the giving of the status of country candidate for EU. Government’s Secretary General Dumitru Udrea reconfirmed these commitments at a meeting with Ambassador of the Netherlands for Eastern Partnership Jaap Frederik, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.     

„Moldova has already initiated the fulfillment of the conditions and a first step which we made at the government was a decision to complete the ministerial teams with professional civil servants in charge of the European integration and the establishment of a new office of deputy secretary general for European affairs in the ministries involved in this process most of all. The European Union provided us all its confidence, when it accepted the status of country candidate for EU and Moldova will meet with much responsibility the conditions of accession set forth by EU for a prosperous, resilient and European future,’’ Dumitru Udrea said.  

For his part, the Ambassador of Netherlands for the Eastern Partnership expressed support for Moldova. ‘’We closely watched the process of filling in the questionnaires by Moldova in last spring and I want to express admiration for the quality of documents you submitted in such a short period of time. I wish you, in continuation, much strength and professionalism on the European road which I am sure that you will cover successfully,’’ the Dutch official noted.  

On 19-22 September, His Excellency Jaap Frederik, along with a delegation of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Netherlands, is on a visit to Chisinau, in order to take knowledge and discuss the package of conditions Moldova committed to fulfill in its capacity of country candidate EU.
