The hub will support the creation and development of 20 enterprises in social entrepreneurship. It will provide the necessary support to social entrepreneurs in the region and generate new jobs for residents.

The hub was set up as part of the Harnessing the potential of civil society to promote and develop social entrepreneurship in Moldova project funded by the European Union, co-financed by Sweden and implemented by the East Europe Foundation in partnership with Keystone Moldova and the Contact Center. The hub was launched through a grant worth 40,000 euros, obtained by the Cahul branch of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

"We are confident that the work of this Hub, which we are launching today in Cahul will help speed up the development of social enterprises, so that more entrepreneurs will benefit from specialized training, mentoring, access to funding sources and advice, to provide services and products in demand on the regional and local market. The European Union has actively supported the development of social entrepreneurship in the Republic of Moldova, so that more people can benefit from the services and products created", EU Ambassador to Moldova Jānis Mažeiks said.

Also, an exhibition stand will be set up under the project, where social entrepreneurs will benefit from space for products. Social entrepreneurs will be guided by professional social business mentors and will continuously benefit from new connections with community actors in support of social entrepreneurship.
