Chisinau, 23 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Over 500 people visited the parliament on 19-23 September during the parliamentary opening week.

According to the parliament's communication and public relations department, refugees from Ukraine were among the visitors. The visitors met with MPs and discussed the issues that interest them, participated in public lectures, creative workshops and guided tours of the legislative institution building. Visitors to the Parliament could also admire a photo exhibition taken by young people, with the title Partnership and solidarity between generations.

On the occasion of the parliamentary opening week, a role-playing game was organized for young people with the topic Origin of democracy, facilitated by MP Marcela Nistor. Thus, 25 students from the College of the Free International University of Moldova discovered what it means to be a deputy, taking on the roles of legislators from different historical periods. For an hour, in the plenary meeting room, the young people organized the public debate of their own draft laws, and at the end they voted for the best draft.

On the International Day of Peace a group of children showed peace in colors during the Colors of Peace painting workshop, organized at the Parliament. 43 children from the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine painted together a picture of peace on canvas. Guided by painter Valeria Barbas, the little artists chose the colors, which in their view are symbols of peace.

The parliamentary opening week is held annually in September, in the context of the International Day of Democracy.
