Polobocul de aur contest announced winners

Chisinau, 3 October /MOLDPRES/- The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) awarded winners of the Polobocul de aur (Golden Barrel) contest on 2 October.

At this year's edition, about 400 wine samples competed, 117 reached the national level, and 9 were nominated as winners of the contest.

Attending the event, CCI head Sergiu Harea said that the contest highlights the tradition of homemade wine production. "The wine is appreciated by professional tasters, and the most skilled artisan wine producers are awarded. I am proud of our winemakers, who despite all the impediments - pandemic, economic crisis, drought, war, continue to work and always surprise us with a good wine", he said.

The Grand Prize in the Best White Wine nomination was won by Iurii Belioglo from the village of Cazaclia. The Best red wine category was awarded to Igor Donțu from Căuşeni. In the category Best rose wine, the winner was Andrei Eremia from Ialoveni.

The Grand Prize in the Wine matured for at least six months was obtained by Timofei Pogor from Văsieni, Ialoveni district. In the Best red wine category, the win went to Adrian Chivriga from Ungheni.

The Grand Prize for the winners is a 100 liter barrel.
