Danube Region Programme 2021-2027 to finance projects in Moldova

Chisinau, 4 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Danube Region Programme 2021-2027 launches the first appeal of proposals of projects for the countries of the Danube river basin, including Moldova.  

According to the Foreign Assistance Programmes Management Office, the programme’s goal is to promote the economic, social, territorial development and cohesion in the Danube region through improving the public policies and institutional cooperation. The programme’s overall budget is of 213 million euros. The support will be distributed to beneficiaries from the partner countries of the Danube Region Programme.      

Thus, the beneficiaries will be able to submit proposals of projects in line with the following four objectives of policies: A More Capable Europe, A Greener Europe, with Less Emissions of Carbon, A More Social Europe, A Better Governance of Cooperation; Consolidated Institutional Capacities for Improving the Territorial and Macro-Regional Governance. The duration of the projects should not exceed 30 months. The estimated date of starting the projects is January 2024.   

The entities eligible for participation are the local, regional, national public authorities/public law organizations officially registered in the zone of the programme; private organizations and international organizations.  

The first stage in submitting the files consists in expressing the interest through filling in a form submitted through the system of programme’s monitoring (Jems) till 21 November. At the second stage, the applicants for financing will submit (estimated in the spring of 2023) the application form filled in with the annexes needed, if the project proposal was preselected at the first stage. 

Presently, 22 projects are implemented within the Danube Transnational Programme 2014-2020 in Moldova in such fields as: good governance, innovation and social, cultural, energy and environmental responsibility, with an overall value of 2.5 million euros.
