Chisinau, 4 October /MOLDPRES/ - The governmental commission for European integration today held a meeting, in order to assess the degree of implementation of the reforms and establish the actions due to be carried out in the near future, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

„This is the first meeting of the governmental commission for European integration after the getting of the status of country candidate for EU. We are here, in order to revitalize the format of the commission and to arrange the processes dealing with the government, authorities and all decision-makers who participate in negotiations. In this respect, we should say that a string of important actions have been already carried out on the presidential platform of the National Commission for European Integration. One thing is for sure: it is up to us the speed with which we will move in the implementation of all items and achieving the values which motivated us to submit the application on European integration,’’ Natalia Gavrilita said at the beginning of the meeting.

More subjects were on the agenda, among which the analysis of the implementation of the action plan suggested by the European Commission, confirmation of the Association Agenda for 2021-2027, which is to be adopted in next December and the creation of 35 task forces for adjusting the national legislation to the European one.

Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu said that, as for the action plan for the implementation of those nine measures proposed by the European Commission, a visible progress was recorded in the measures’ enforcement. In certain cases, a slight delay in the actions’ carrying out is registered; yet, most of them are implemented and only their publication in the Official Journal is expected.

The commission members referred also to the progress made by the authorities in the process of enhancing the institutions’ capacities, through supply with staff in charge of the planning, working out, monitoring and assessment of the public policies, so that they meet the EU standards.
