Government approves list of personal use objects introduced without payment of import rights upon return of Moldovans to live in Moldova

Chisinau, 5 October /MOLDPRES/ - Citizens who return to live in Moldova will be able to bring to the country more personal use assets without the payment of import rights. The personal use objects should not show, through nature or quantity, the fact that they are imported for being sold. The norms to this effect entered into force on 1 October this year and the list of personal use objects which can be introduced in Moldova without the payment of import rights was approved by the cabinet today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.     

Moldova’s citizens who reached the age of 18 years, have permit of permanent or temporary stay abroad or any other document issued by the authorities of the foreign state, which certifies the settling on the territory of the concerned state, will be able to benefit from exemption at the import of assets. Also, the proof is needed of stay outside Moldova for at least 48 months cumulatively, starting the date of submitting the application for introducing the personal assets.       

If a vehicle subjected to exemption is imported, it is necessary to hold the valid driver’s licence.    

All assets subjected to exemption and indicated in the application due to be submitted to the Customs Service will be introduced in Moldova through the same border crossing point, no matter the way of their transportation, in a period of three months after the date of communication of the favourable administrative act, issued by the Customs Service.
