Chisinau, Oct. 10 /MOLDPRES/- For 11 October the following maximum retail prices of the main standard petroleum products were set: COR 95 petrol – 24.81 lei/liter (+ 0.24 lei); diesel - 26.87 lei/liter (+ 0.49 lei), the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) has reported.
The agency explained that the increases come after an increasingly pronounced increase in fuel prices, which at the end of the previous week reached a level of around 920 dollars/ton for petrol and 1220 dollars/ton for diesel. In the interval of the last 14 days, used by ANRE to calculate the maximum prices, Platts quotations increased by 16% for petrol and by 31% for diesel, the increase representing about 125 dollars/ton for petrol and 290 dollars/ton for diesel.
"The oil market is strongly influenced by the unprecedented volatility of fuel prices, generated by the general state of instability on the European continent. At the same time, the price ceiling mechanism currently applied by ANRE maintains a relatively lower level of prices compared to other states in the region", the National Agency for Energy Regulation said.
