Moldovan president visits central district

Chisinau, 11 October /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today visited the central Telenesti district, where she discussed with people the difficulties faced by the entire country, as well as the daily cares they concerned about, the presidential press service has reported.  

The head of state spoke to residents of the Branzenii Noi and Saratenii Vechi the consequences of the war in Ukraine, how they affect the increase in prices and how we will go through the forthcoming winter, in the context of the severer and severer energy crisis. The sides also discussed the measures of backing the population, which the government was enforcing for the next cold season. ‘’I answered questions about the justice reform, situation in the education and the medical system. We also touched upon the advantages of the status of country candidate for the European Union and how this will improve the living, as the accession to EU represents our chance to survive as democracy and develop economically,’’ President Maia Sandu said.  

The head of state congratulated both communes on their participation in the European Village Programme. Due to the latter, the street illumination will be extended in Branzenii Noi and the kindergarten will be repaired in Branzenii Vechi, which is part of this commune. And the process of repair of the Community Centre’s roof has already started in Saratenii Vechi. ‘’In the end, I thanked the residents of these villages for the support and generosity proved towards more families of refugees from Ukraine, who were hosted and integrated in the community,’’ President Maia Sandu added.
