Moldovan government's secretary general meets new GIZ Moldova country director

Chisinau, 12 October /MOLDPRES/ - The German Agency for International Cooperation Moldova (GIZ Moldova) and the State Chancellery continue the cooperation within current projects, as well as future ones. Moldovan Government’s Secretary General Dumitru Udrea and the new country director of GIZ Moldova, Claudia Hermes, today discussed opportunities to provide Moldova with support, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.   

Dumitru Udrea appreciated the cooperation between GIZ and Moldova, noting that, through the projects initiated, the Agency brought a valuable support for the carrying out of the essential transformations for the country’s social and economic development. ‘’You are a reliable partner and we thank you for the assistance provided in the priority sectors for us. I am sure that, in continuation as well, we will have an intense cooperation, will achieve together all goals set and will generate results for our citizens,’’ Dumitru Udrea said.   

„I want to assure you that, along with the European Union, we will further back the cabinet’s efforts, including through the carrying out of new projects. We know the sectors in which you need support and we are able to meet your necessities,’’ Claudia Hermes stressed.   

Among the projects, to which carrying out GIZ contributes, there is EU4Moldova: Local Communities, the goal of which is to improve the quality of life in the communities from the rural environment. Also, the government’s secretary general referred to the importance of the projects which provide support to the Moldovan government, aimed at efficiently implementing its action programme, in line with the provisions of the Moldova-European Union Association Agreement.      

Presently, the State Chancellery is the strategic partnership in the implementation of four projects carried out with the support of the German Agency for International Cooperation, with an overall budget of 24.3 million euros. These projects regard the improvement of the social and economic perspectives for the residents from Moldova’s communities, modernization of the health sector, as well as consolidation of the capacities of enforcement of the Agenda 2030.
