International Decorative Art Biennale announced winners

Chisinau, Oct. 13 /MOLDPRES/- An exhibition of the International Decorative Art Biennale, Chisinau-2022, was opened today at the Constantin Brâncusi Exhibition Center of the Fine Artists Union of Moldova.

Artist Elena Frunze, the curator of the exhibition, said that it includes over 100 works by artists from Azerbaijan, Poland, the Republic of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine.

The artistic manifestation aims to promote contemporary decorative art, use the creative potential of artists in the field. The international exhibition illustrates a wide spectrum of expressive and aesthetic approaches, visual expressions in techniques specific to the decorative arts: tapestry, textile print, textile collage, mixed techniques, clothing design, interior design, artistic processing of leather, decorative artistic forms in metal, wood, artistic glass, artistic ceramics, artistic jewelry, author's techniques. The international exhibition reflects the artistic processes and stylistic trends of art genres in the field of applied decorative arts in recent years.

The jury led by fine artist Andrei Negură awarded several prizes. Thus, the Prize of the Ministry of Culture was awarded to Ecaterina Ajder, and the prize of the Culture Directorate of Chisinau Municipality - to artist Vasile Grama for the work "Phoenix". The award of the National Art Museum of Moldova went to artist Svetlana Șugjda. The prizes from the Five Plus Art Gallery were awarded to artists Florentin Leancă, Lucia Bîlba, Octavian Romanescu and Ecaterina Peiceva. The prizes from Art Studio Picasso went to artists Eugeniu Croitoru and Ludmila Ochievschi.

The International Decorative Art Biennale Chisinau is in its 6th edition, the project coordinator is the president of the Decorative Arts Section at UAP, the artist Iurii Cebotari. The curator of the exhibition is the artist Elena Frunze, the members of the coordination team - fine artists Ala Lupu-Leancă and Oleg Dobrovolschi, all members of the UAP from the Republic of Moldova.

The exhibition will be open until October 30.
