Moldovan PM, parliament speaker of Czech Republic analyze opportunities of development of Moldovan-Czech dialogue

Chisinau, 18 October /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita and President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic’s Parliament Markéta Pekarová Adamová discussed the framework of Moldovan-Czech cooperation and perspectives of boosting the political dialogue between the two states at a meeting today.     

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the officials noted the close relations between the two countries, consolidated in the last 30 years since the establishment of the diplomatic ties. The sides also highlighted the need to maintain an active political dialogue, including for the support by the Czech side of Moldova’s ambitious European agenda.   

In the context, the PM thanked for the support on behalf of the Czech Republic in the process of getting the status of country candidate for EU. Gavrilita also emphasized the Czech humanitarian assistance from  which Moldova had benefited in the management of refugees’ crisis. In particular, the Moldovan official highlighted the support of the Czech Development Agency, which provides Moldova with assistance in more priority sectors.     

„We are grateful for the assistance and friendship of the Czech Republic – the friends should be united before difficulties. You remain for us a key partner, which, through its experience, contributes to Moldova’s modernization,’’ Natalia Gavrilita said.   

For her part, Markéta Pekarová Adamová appreciated the way the Moldovan authorities had managed the crisis of Ukrainian refugees. She stressed that her country remained with Moldova, in order to back the country’s European perspective and the transformations planned for improving the quality of people’s living. ‘’I am honoured to be in Moldova and, through this visit, we want to assure you of the Czech Republic’s every support and expertise in the process of your country’s European integration. I say this in the Czech Republic’s capacity of country holding the Presidency of the European Council. We will back you, as the democracy goes only together with prosperity – these two are indispensable from each other,’’ the Czech official said.    

The sides also touched upon the energy situation in Moldova and the actions undertaken by the authorities to support the vulnerable residents and enhance the energy resilience of the country. In this respect, the officials analyzed the Czech Republic’s willingness to provide assistance, in order to enhance the energy efficiency of Moldova and stimulate the development of renewable sources.
