Hydrologists warn about rising water levels in Dniester

Chisinau, Oct. 20 /MOLDPRES/- The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has announced for October 20-23 a hydrological warning of an increase in the water level in the Dniester River.

According to SHS hydrologists, the forecast is related to the increase of water discharge from the Dnestrovsk reservoir (Dniester river) up to 300 cubic meters per second.

"The hydrological center forecasts for October 20-23 the increase of the water level compared to the level of October 20 in the sector of Soroca- Camenca cities by 0.7-1.3 meters. The water will drain within the limits of the minor bed", the Hydrometeorological Service said.

In this context, the authorities warn the local public administration, the economic agents, under whose authority there are reservoirs to pay attention to the condition of the dams, bridges and water evacuation routes.
