Chisinau, Oct. 22 /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development announced last night that this weekend no one will be disconnected from electricity.

According to the official, starting on Monday, October 24, we will have a greater deficit of electricity, taking into account the MGRES announcement of a reduction in electricity supplies. "Also on Monday, we will come with additional information about this deficit", said Spînu.

Also, the deputy prime minister said that another 100 MW of electricity have been identified that will be imported from Romania. "In total, Romania will deliver 235 MW; (2) Energocom completes the registration process on the OPCOM platform (the market operator in Romania) and will be able to additionally purchase, during peak hours, electricity from Romania; (3) We are interconnected at ENTSO-E and we will be able to purchase electricity from the European market", said Spînu.

"Please keep saving. In the coming period, we will have to continue this effort in order to avoid disconnecting consumers. The war in Ukraine, the attacks in recent weeks on the energy infrastructure in the neighboring country and Gazprom's decision to reduce gas supplies directly hit the citizens of our country on both banks of the Dniester. We at the Government will do our best to keep the country connected to electricity. Please let us be united and responsible in saving in the coming period", he said.
