Chisinau, 24 October /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Infrastructure and Regional Development Minister Andrei Spinu today evening informed that there was the risk of massive disconnections from power supply in continuation. In particular, in the time intervals 7:00-11:00 and 18:00-23:00, as the Energocom stock company has no commercial coverage of the entire consumption of electric energy for 25 October.

„We will have a deficit again. We will cover it, after today Moldelectrica resorted to a failure contract signed with Romania. The cost of the energy purchased under this contract is between 190 and 348 euro/MWh,’’ the official said.

According to the deputy PM, this is a too high price. Yet, if we save, we can pay less, Spinu said.

In the context, Andrei Spinu highlighted more good examples. ‘’The Leova mayoralty informed that it would disconnect the street illumination in certain time intervals and the Linella network reduces the illumination on its buildings’ façades. I want to thank them for effort. This helps us everybody, help us not to be in the situation to make disconnections,’’ the deputy PM noted, reiterating his urge to solidarity.
