Chisinau, Oct. 26 /MOLDPRES/- President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu went on Tuesday to Ciuciuleni village, Hâncești, and discussed with residents about current problems and future plans. The head of state said that the government's priorities are the safety of citizens, economic development and peace in the country, and that they work daily for this, the presidential press service has reported.

It was also discussed that in the next period, we will have to save energy resources. Because of the Russian war in Ukraine, energy is scarce and more expensive, so it must be used rationally, consuming less light during peak hours. "I assured them that the authorities are working to reduce energy vulnerability by diversifying sources and stimulating investments in renewable energy, but these efforts will not produce immediate results," the official said.

In the dialogue with the people, the head of state said that in these three decades, many unresolved problems have accumulated at the local and national level, and the war has aggravated the situation even more. At the same time, now the door to the European Union has opened for us and we must all work to turn to good account the unique opportunity. "We have to develop the economy and become competitive on the European market. We must insist on reforming the judiciary and getting rid of corruption at all levels. We must continue to encourage communities to create jobs and improve living conditions," said Maia Sandu.

One of the instruments through which communities are supported is the European Village program, which will also benefit the Ciuciuleni residents, which won an investment project in the aqueduct.
