The discussions focused on the modernization projects of the Republic of Moldova and the support that friendly countries can offer us, the sharing of good practices for joining the EU, strengthening the energy resilience of our country and the regional developments generated by the war in Ukraine.

During the meeting with Marshal of the Senate of Poland Tomasz Grodzki, the Speaker thanked for the humanitarian assistance given to our country in the context of the flow of refugees from Ukraine. "Poland is a reliable friend of the Republic of Moldova and this has been felt even more strongly in recent years through the modernization projects of our country, through the political support within the European institutions and the support of our European path", said Igor Grosu. On November 6-7, 2022, the 8th Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Poland will take place in Chisinau.

In Zagreb, the Moldovan speaker also discussed with his Estonian counterpart, Juri Ratas. In the discussions, Igor Grosu reiterated the fact that the Republic of Moldova does not treat the fact that it was granted the status of a candidate country for the EU as an exemption from reforms. It causes the authorities to be more consistent in the implementation of reforms, which are necessary primarily for our citizens. "We will not skip any stage, and Estonia's experience will help us," he said.

The agenda also included a discussion with Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic Markéta Pekarová Adamová. The official reconfirmed what was said in Chisinau – the Czech Republic is ready to share with the Republic of Moldova the experience and good practices of joining the EU.

Various issues related to the implementation of the reforms recommended by the European Commission, the bilateral relationship and the common future in the European Union were discussed with Chairman of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili.

The subject of strengthening energy resilience, taking into account the latest regional developments generated by Russia's war against Ukraine, was addressed at the meeting with President of the National Council of Austria Wolfgang Sobotka. The officials also discussed the importance of intensifying cooperation at the parliamentary level, but also about the reform agenda of our country. "We still have a lot of work to do - justice reform, the fight against corruption, the strengthening of institutions, the fight against propaganda, but we are determined to move forward", said Igor Grosu.

In discussions with Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Şentop, the official noted that the Republic of Moldova is interested in intensifying trade with Turkey and attracting investments, as well as in strengthening cooperation in the energy sector.

In Zagreb, the official also had a meeting with Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk and discussed the latest events in the region. "There is no longer any doubt that Russia is premeditatedly attacking civilian targets in Ukraine. We reaffirmed our firm support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of our countries, within the internationally recognized borders", said Igor Grosu. The two officials discussed the bilateral agenda. Igor Grosu welcomed the efforts of relevant institutions from the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine to strengthen cooperation in the field of infrastructure, which has an important role to restore the logistical chains disrupted due to the war.
