Chisinau, 26 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Material Reserves Agency (ARM) of the Interior Ministry (MAI) will release eight thousand tons of crude oil from state reserves, as de-blocking, to the Termoelectrica stock company. The draft was voted at a cabinet meeting today.

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the burning of the crude oil released will allow continuing the supplies of natural gas and maintaining the pressure needed in the gas pipelines, which will lead to a normal work of the thermal power plants on gas, given that a great deal of the apartment blocks use this energy resource. The measure is necessary, in the context of the limiting of the volume of natural gas, provided for October, delivered to Moldova by Russia through the Gazprom giant.

Thus, the residents who live in apartment blocks connected to energy and thermal agent, generated by boiler houses on gas, will be able to carry out the current activities in a normal and stable regime and the system deviations or disconnections will be avoided to the minimum.

At the same time, proceeding from the reason that those 8,000 tons of crude oil are released from state reserves through de-blocking, the Termoelectrica stock company will be exempted from obligation to return them.

Also, taking into account the sustainability of the procurement operations, the financial resources necessary for filling the state reserves with the quantity of crude oil released will be included in the draft of the state budget law for 2023, which, according to the estimations made at the moment of the draft’s working out, stand at 169.3 million lei.
