Chisinau, 26 October /MOLDPRES/ - The State Labour Inspectorate will have another organizational structure as of 1 November 2022. The cabinet adopted a decision to this end today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The amendments made have at the basis models applied at similar institutions from European states and the goal is to optimize the work of the State Labour Inspectorate and its resources.

Thus, according to the draft, the number of units from the State Labour Inspectorate will be cut from 104 to 84, of which 26 will be distributed to the central apparatus and 58 units – for territorial labour inspections.

Also, amendments are envisaged in the structure of the institution’s central apparatus and namely the creation of new subdivisions: a department of methodological support for inspections, which will develop the competences of the inspectors for combating the undeclared labour, in the field of labour and health and labour security; a subdivision in charge of providing consultancy both to employees and employers, which will allow labour inspectors to allot more time for activities of inspection and internal audit service, which will verify and ensure the institutional integrity.

The amendments proposed will not need the allocation of financial resources from the state budget; on the contrary, they will ensure savings worth about 2.5 million lei. This will allow increasing the salaries for the execution offices and, respectively, will create the conditions needed for enhancing the labour productivity and the quality of services provided.
