Commission for Emergency Situations approves steps to reduce energy consumption

Chisinau, Oct. 27 /MOLDPRES/- The Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE) of Chisinau has approved several measures to reduce energy consumption.
According to the decision, the heads of municipal subdivisions, institutions and enterprises will develop plans to optimize electricity consumption, especially during peak hours - 07:00-11:00 and 18:00-23:00, but which will not affect safety and employee activity or the operation of essential services.
At the same time, public lighting in the city will be disconnected one hour earlier in the morning - 06:00 and will be connected one hour later in the evening - 20:00.
According to the municipal authorities, depending on the circumstances and special conditions, public lighting will be disconnected at night and/or on weekend.
Also, at the request of the Ministry of Internal Affairs or other central public authorities, the Municipal Enterprise Lumteh will connect the street lighting, if necessary, outside the hours provided by the decisions of the CSEl.
The decision of the municipal authorities was taken under the CSE instrucion on rationalization of the consumption of energy resources.
