Moldova to get grant of 12.4 million euros

Chisinau, Oct. 27 /MOLDPRES/- Moldova will receive a grant of 12.4 million euros for the implementation of the Energy Efficiency in the Republic of Moldova Project. Today the Parliament ratified the Grant Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Investment Bank.
The main beneficiaries of the project will be social institutions - republican, municipal and district hospitals, kindergartens and schools. Financial assistance will be provided by the Neighborhood Investment Platform of the European Commission to reduce the financial burden of potential beneficiaries of energy rehabilitation projects of public buildings.
The project amounts to 75.5 million euros, with financial coverage from the European Union, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank. The project is to be implemented until 2025.
According to the representatives of the Government, the project is already in the process of implementation, and the responsible institutions will make every effort for the full utilization, according to the destination and within the established terms, of the resources provided by the external partners.
