Moldova to buy gas for 821.58 dollars per 1,000 cubic metres in next November

Chisinau, 28 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovagaz company will pay 821.58 dollars for each 1,000 cubic metres of natural gas bought from the Gazprom giant, against 1,031 dollars in October.

Moldovagaz director Vadim Ceban made statements to this effect today. He noted that Gazprom had confirmed the volume of gas due to be delivered to Moldova in next November and which will stand at 5.7 million cubic metres per 24 hours. ‘’The preliminary cost of gas for Moldovagaz will be 821.58 dollars for 1,000 cubic metres,’’ Vadim Ceban said.

According to the contract signed in October 2021, the price of natural gas purchased by Moldovagaz from Gazprom is calculated differently during winter and in summer.

On the period 1 November – 1 April, when the consumption is big, this price is prompted, to an extent of 70 per cent, by the quotation of oil at international exchanges and, at a level of 30 per cent, by the quotation of natural gas on spot markets.

During 1 November – 1 April, the formula is inverted and represents 30 per cent of the price, which is formed according to the quotation of oil at exchanges, and 70 per cent – according to the quotation of natural gas.
