Chisinau, 30 October /MOLDPRES/ - The departed artists, Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici, were commemorated at the Central Orthodox Cemetery on the Armeneasca Street from Chisinau today, when Moldova marks 30 years of their passing away.
More people – relatives, friends, admirers, gathered at their grave today, proving that the two departed artists have not been forgotten.
Eugenia Marin, the mother of Doina Aldea-Teodorovici, thanked all people who were with them on this day. ‘’I am glad that 30 years after their departure, Doina and Ion represent a living presence among us. Their songs are sung by singers from different countries at the International Festival, Two Twin Hearts. In the Memory of Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici. Five years ago, the father of Doina, my husband, Gheorghe Marin, passed away too and rests just near them. Doina and Ion have not remained alone and their songs will last on this land. They represent my happiness and grief,’’ Eugenia Marin said.
For his part, the son of the departed artists, Cristofor Aldea-Teodorovici, said that, although his parents had departed while being young, they managed to do as much as we would not have managed to do in several lives. ‘’All that emotional, Latin, Romanian charge have been filled our soul till present and it is important that we and our children discover it. I thank everybody who accepts them in their souls today,’’ Cristi Aldea-Teodorovici also said. He read several fragments from the diary of his mother, Doina Aldea-Teodorovici.
Attending the event, poet Ion Hadarca said that Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici had been a nice pair and a matchless song. They were two beautiful young people who gave us a lesson of dignity: to preserve our values. Just as the great departed poet, Grigore Vieru, used to say, one of the miracles of this pair was the special, relieving, flowing and unmistakable inspiration of their voice and especially their message of union. There was much patriotism in their songs, much love for our national values,’’ Ion Hadarca noted.
A group of priests made a religious office for the departed artists and the Doina Choral Chapel of the Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic, conducted by Ilona Stepan and actor Iurie Gologan gave a literary and musical recital. Before the event at the artists’ grave, a literary and musical recital was held at the monument to Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici from the Mills’ Valley Park.
Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici died in the wake of a traffic accident in the settlement Cosereni, Romania, on 29 October 1992. The car by which moved crashed into a tree.
