Moldovan electoral body unveils results of new local elections in Braniște

Chisinau, Oct. 31 /MOLDPRES/- The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) presented the preliminary results of the runoff local elections held yesterday in Braniște village, Râșcani district.

According to the CEC, the candidate of the Democratic Party of Moldova, Veaceslav Popa, has got 51.81% of the votes, and the candidate of the Action and Solidarity Party, Daniela Coltun - 48.19% of the votes.

According to the legal provisions, after the runoff election, the candidate who obtained the highest number of votes is considered elected, regardless of the number of voters who participated in the voting.

617 voters or 61.39% participated in the runoff elections.
