Moldovan foreign affairs ministry condemns attack with missiles against Ukrainian cities

Chisinau, 31 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) reiterates the firm condemnation by Moldova of the attacks with missiles against the Kiev city and other settlements from Ukraine, including a missile shot down by the Ukrainian anti-aircraft system, which fell in the northern extremity of the Naslavcea settlement, north Moldova.
According to the MAEIE’s press service, these attacks, which escalate, in continuation, the security situation, represent a glaring infringement of the international humanitarian law, which bans the targeting of civilians and their infrastructure.
Today morning, MAEIE decision-makers got in touch with the Embassy of Moldova in Ukraine’s capital. The ministry’s representatives assured that all staff was in safety and that they attentively monitored the evolution of the events. The Moldovan citizens from Ukraine can appeal, in case of any need, to the consulate from Odessa for specialty consular assistance.
The Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry says that the attacks against the energy infrastructure of Ukraine bring huge economic and social damages to the entire European continent, including Moldova’s citizens, who feel the effects of the war in the country’s neighbourhood. MAEIE condemns as toughly as possible the use by Russia of energy resources as weapons.
