Competition on urban development project proposals launched

Chisinau, Nov. 2 /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development (MIDR), jointly with the Regional Development Agencies announced yesterday the launch of urban development project competition for the cities of growth poles - Edineț, Soroca, Ungheni, Orhei, Comrat, Cahul and local public administration authorities with city or municipality status, which have approved Urban Revitalization Programs. The projects will be financed from the means of the National Fund for Regional and Local Development.
The competition aims to support the acceleration of the socio-economic development of cities, especially those with growth poles, capable of supporting development in the neighboring rural areas.
According to MIDR, the project selection contest will be carried out through two calls launched and carried out simultaneously: call on the list - for which the cities of growth poles are eligible: Edineț, Soroca, Ungheni, Orhei, Comrat, Cahul, with project proposals; competitive call – for local public administration authorities, with city or municipality status, which have approved Urban Revitalization Programs, including growth pole cities. They can come up with project proposals aimed at urban revitalization and infrastructure development of public spaces.
"Funding applications will be submitted within 30 calendar days from the approval of the Concept Notes submitted for the shortlist call and 90 days for the competitive call," the quoted source said.
