Chisinau, 2 November /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 105 refugees from Ukraine, accommodated at the Chisinau-based temporary placement centre from Moldexpo, have been transferred to others centres of Moldova, which have more developed infrastructure, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The people’s transfer took place in the last two weeks of October and was carried out by the Labour and Social Protection Ministry, in cooperation with the Single Crisis Management Centre, Moldexpo International Exhibition Centre and the Public Property Agency.
Those 105 people, of whom 62 women, 12 men and 31 children, reached 8 temporary placement centres from Chisinau and other ones from Criuleni, Anenii Noi, Hancesti, Straseni and Orhei. Each transfer was made taking into account the needs of each person: job, access to kindergarten or school, etc.
Presently, no refugees are accommodated at Moldexpo. Therefore, the institution will be closed on the cold period. The decision was issued, taking into account the optimization of the consumption of energy resources during winter and cutting the costs, as the heating system of the Moldexpo pavilion works on natural gas and would have generated invoices of more than 400,000 lei.
