Chisinau, Nov. 8 /MOLDPRES/- The Public Services Agency (ASP) received yesterday 12 new Škoda Scala cars for the practical test examination, category B. The value of the purchase is 3.6 million lei (about 180 thousand euros).

"The Public Services Agency is going through an ambitious reform: from projects to amend legislative acts aimed at improving the way public services are provided by digitizing their delivery processes up to the modernization of the institution's infrastructure, in which nothing has been invested for years. In the context of bringing the national license into line with European standards, starting from 01.01.2022, the requirements on the technical parameters of the vehicles, used by ASP in the examination process have been adjusted to the provisions of the Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council. Thus, ASP has planned for next year the purchase of 33 more vehicles for all examination categories, with a total value of about 29 million lei", ASP director Mircea Eșanu said.

Currently, the 11 driver qualification sections of the Public Services Agency have a park of 77 vehicles for examination, which is insufficient for the large number of applicants to get a driver's license.

With the modernization of the ASP infrastructure and the application of the new provisions of the Regulation on the examination procedure for obtaining the right to drive vehicles, implemented as of May 10, the waiting time to take the driving qualification exam has decreased from 60 days, as before, about two weeks (in normal regime) and a few days (emergency regime).
