Moldovan winemakers got 39 medals at competition in Canada

Chisinau, Nov. 9 /MOLDPRES/- Winemakers from the Republic of Moldova, who participated in a relevant competition in Canada, brought home 39 medals, including three Grand Or awards, 29 gold medals and seven silver medals, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) announced yesterday.

"Moldovan producers returned victorious from Canada. This year, 64 wines from 26 companies participated, thanks to the financial support of the National Office of Vine and Wine, in the Selections Mondials des Vins Canada competition", USAID said.

USAID has been supporting the wine industry of the Republic of Moldova since 2005. "We are proud and happy to see, with each passing year, its transformation. More and more wine producers, both large companies and small wineries, are proving to the whole world that Moldova has good, quality wines that deserve a place alongside the world's producers", the quoted source said.
