Foreign Minister conveys message of compassion to Turkish counterpart

Chisinau, Nov. 14 /MOLDPRES/- Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu last night conveyed a message of compassion to his Turkish counterpart, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, as regards the terrorist attack in Istanbul.
According to the MAIE press service, Popescu said our country "vehemently condemns this terrorist attack and sends condolences to the grieving families, as well as our wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured".
The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Ankara and the Consulate General of our country in Istanbul are in constant contact with the competent authorities in Turkey to specify whether there are no Moldovan citizens among the victims. According to the information, there are no Moldovan citizens affected in the attack.

Yesterday's attack in Istanbul, which was not claimed, resulted in six deaths and 81 injured, half of whom required hospitalization.
