Exhibition of Moldovan sea ships in miniature opened at National Library

Chisinau, 14 November /MOLDPRES/ - An exhibition titled, The Moldovan navy in miniature, was opened at the National Library of Moldova (BNRM) today. The exhibition presents seven models of sea ships in miniature, made by professional sailor, historian Ion Friptu.
According to the organizers, the author of the collection of ships, sailor by profession Ion Friptu all his life long has worked in the navy of Russia. And for more years, he has been sculpting boats and ships from the history of the native navy. Each exhibit is the result of a thorough, assiduous and accurate work; yet, besides the work, Ion Friptu invested much patience, as well as money in his passion.
He is the author of a monograph titled, The evolution of the native navy.
The Moldovan navy began with primitive rafts, monoxylons, boats made of tree trunks – works of labour and inspiration of Dacian masters boat makers.
The exhibition will be opened till I January 2023.
