Chisinau, 14 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Causes (PCCOCS) today informed that it had appealed at the Chisinau Court of Appeal the conclusion of Chisinau Court, which cancelled the resumption of the criminal prosecution against one of the biggest private medical diagnosis institutions from Moldova, suspected of tax dodging of more than 3,000,000 lei (about 151,000 euros).
According to PCCOCS, the institution would not have paid to the state taxes worth over 3.3 million lei during 2016-2018. More exactly, the tax dodging would have occurred through manipulating the memory of the check-out equipment set at the concerned institution.
Now, the court cancelled both the ordinance of the PCCOCS deputy chief prosecutor of resuming the criminal prosecution and the ordinance of the acting prosecutor general, who rejected the contestation of the institution’s lawyer.
Therefore, the efforts of resuming the criminal prosecution, which is to be considered by the Chisinau Court of Appeal, are aimed at carrying out the entire necessary string of prosecution actions, in order to prove the deeds investigated and collect the alleged damage inflicted for the benefit of the state.
