Chisinau, 15 November /MOLDPRES/ - A group of Italian investors are willing to start partnerships with Moldovan agricultural producers for cultivating the crop of beans. This was the focus of a today’s discussion held at the headquarters of the Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry (MAIA).
The investors from Italy deemed as opportune the idea to grow leguminous plants in Moldova, such as beans and lentil, reasoning that these legumes were quite demanded in Europe.
„This investment project might bring economic benefits to both sides and that, in the long run, it would be a solution to increase the content of nutritive elements in the soil. Or, for this, data of the Selection Research Institute for Field Crops about the cultivation of varieties of beans in Moldova are needed as well,’’ a state secretary at MAIA, Vasile Sarban, said.
The sides also analyzed which would be the most positive areas and soils for the correct placement of the clop of beans, considering the premises for getting as rich as possible harvests.
