Moldova received observer status in Transport Community Treaty

Chisinau, Nov. 16 /MOLDPRES/- The Republic of Moldova is getting closer to the European Union, after, together with Ukraine and Georgia, it received observer status in the Transport Community Treaty, Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development announced today.

Spînu had a message via videoconference during a ministerial meeting in Brussels, organized by the European Commission for Transport.

According to the official, once this status is obtained, our country will be helped in the EU integration process by transposing the national transport legislation to the European one.

"We will take over the good practices, we will ensure the compatibility of the legislation so that the rail, road, maritime and inland waterways transport sector, as well as the development of the transport network meet European standards", the deputy prime minister said.
