Chisinau, Nov. 16 /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Igor Grosu met a delegation of the Defense Committee of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, led by Tobias Ellwood. The discussion focused on strengthening capacities in the security and defense sector, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.

"We live in complicated times, and information and cyber security is a priority today, and we are open to learning from the experience of other states. In recent months, several accounts of state institutions have been hacked, and the first information shows us that the attacks come from the Russian Federation", he said.

The discussions also referred to many challenges Moldova is facing, once the Russian Federation attacks the critical infrastructure in Ukraine, and the Ukrainians remain without electricity, heat and water. Yesterday's attack proved that Moldova is also vulnerable, half of the country being disconnected from electricity. Grosu said that the risks to remain in blackout are high. In this context, he pointed out the country's interest in drawing investments in the renewable energy.

The officials also talked about the initiation of negotiations on signing bilateral agreements on the mutual conversion of driving licenses and reduce roaming charges. "We have a large diaspora in Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and these agreements would be beneficial for our citizens who study and work there," he said.
