Iordanca-Rodica Iordanov introduced to team from Ministry of Environment

Chisinau, Nov. 22 /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița introduced new Minister of Environment Iordanca-Rodica Iordanov to the team. Gavrilita wished success to the new leadership and the ministry team, expressing confidence that things will speed up in the environment sector, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

"With the support of the authorities and devpelopment partners, waste management in the Republic of Moldova has started in force, something that makes us happy. Accordingly, we await results. I also know that you are working hard to achieve the afforestation goal and that it hurts each and every one of you that so much is being cut. We hope that together we will fix the situation. Now, however, we have to manage this winter as best as possible, which will be a very difficult one", said the prime minister.

The minister stated that she will make every effort to increase the country's resilience to climate change.

"We are also working on water restoration, and water, we know well, is a strategic resource. We also have a lot of work to do on resilience in the face of climate change. At the same time, we plead for the fact that economic agents operate according to environmental legislation and comply with all the rules that are imposed", said Iordanca-Rodica Iordanov.

In the last year, Iordanca-Rodica Iordanov held the position of secretary of state within the same ministry. Previously, she was the executive director of EcoContact – the Center for Environmental Information and Consultation. Iordanov has PhD in law and studied in the Netherlands and the United States of America.
