Chisinau, 22 November /MOLDPRES/ - A half of those 218,000 influenza vaccines have been administered to citizens nationally.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the head of the information and communication service of the National Public Health Agency (ANSP), Olesea Croitor, said the vaccine doses had been distributed to the public health centres and subsequently – to the medical and sanitary institutions from Moldova. ‘’They are meant, as a priority, for children and adults from groups with high risks of falling sick with flu, as well as professional contingents. Also, specialists recommend the concomitant vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 infection,’’ Croitor noted.
A similar situation is recorded in the Moldovan capital too. ‘’About 50 per cent of the vaccines delivered have been already administered in the medical institutions from Chisinau. The influenza vaccination started in late last October. Thus, all people, especially the ones from risk groups, can appeal to the family physician, in order to benefit from vaccine,’’ the head of the medical and social assistance department of the Chisinau city hall, Boris Gilca, said.
Moldova received 2018,000 doses of influenza vaccines. Its composition meets the recommendations by the World Health Organization for the northern hemisphere, the 2022-2023 season.
