Chisinau, Nov. 23 /MOLDPRES/- On the sidelines of the working visit to France, President Maia Sandu met with writer Tatiana Țibuleac, and handed the highest distinction of state, the presidential press service has reported.

"In Paris, I had the honor of handing writer Tatiana Țîbuleac the Order of the Republic, which I conferred on her last autumn, she being one of the 30 personalities awarded on the 30th anniversary of the proclamation of the Independence of our country. The distinction is proof of the exceptional professional successes achieved by our compatriot, but also of her contribution to promoting the image of the Republic of Moldova in the world", said Maia Sandu.

The head of state expressed appreciation for the writer and thanked her for contributing to the good image of our country through her work and talent.

"I thanked Tatiana, although she has been settled in the French capital for several years, she remains with Moldova and writes in Romanian. Through the European Prize for Literature in 2019 and her novels translated in dozens of countries, she brings Moldova's fame to the world and includes us in the European literary circuit. I wish her success and many new titles - and I want her to know once more that we are proud of her", said Maia Sandu.
