Moldovan government approves program on managing migration flow, asylum, integration of foreigners for 2022-2025

Chisinau, Nov. 23 /MOLDPRES/- The government approved today the Program on management of the migration flow, asylum and integration of foreigners for 2022-2025. Its implementation will contribute to ensuring a safe migration, establishing well-defined rules regarding the admission and documentation procedures of foreigners, as well as increasing the quality of the services, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

The Program will strengthen the national asylum system, ensure reception conditions according to European standards and strengthen response capacities, in case of a massive flow of people. At the same time, the implementation of the Program will increase the development of the inter-institutional mechanism, in order to increase the degree of safety of the population and will contribute to combating illegal migration.

The document is important in the context of obtaining the status of a candidate country for accession to the European Union, but also taking into account the evolution of the migration phenomenon, as a result of the major challenges, which take place at the national, regional and global level.

Also, the Program involves alignment with the new international instruments in the field - the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, as well as the Global Compact on Refugees. This is one of the six programs, which are to be approved in the near future by the Government, in order to implement the Strategy for the development of the internal affairs for 2022-2030.
