Chisinau, 24 November /MOLDPRES/ - The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has informed about a hydrological warning of increase in the water level in the Dniester river for 24-27 November.
According to SHS hydrologists, the forecast is in connection with the increase in the discharge of water from the Dnestrovsk reservoir (Dniester river).
‘’The huge energy crisis from Ukraine imposes an increase in the production of electric energy at the Novodnistrovsk Hydroelectric Power Station, in order to meet the country’s needs. For these reasons, big volumes of water are discharged from the hydroelectric station,’’ the institution said.
In the context, the authorities warn the local public administration, economic agents in the subordination of which there are reservoirs to pay attention to the state of dams, bridges and ways of water’s evacuation, as well as to take into account possible higher increases in the level of Dniester river water.
