Moldovan agriculture minister sums up work on occasion of Farmer's Day

Chisinau, 24 November /MOLDPRES/ - The achievements in the agro-industrial complex in 2022, the activities undertaken by the government, in order to back the farmers, perspectives for the agricultural and branch development, mechanisms of providing subsidies in the agricultural sector were the main benchmarks unveiled by Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Vladimir Bolea at a today’s news conference occasioned by the professional day of the branch employees.      

The official referred to a string of normative amendments which regard the subsidized insurance in agriculture. The amendments made by the cabinet are aimed at protecting the farmers’ interests and extending possibilities of insuring the agricultural assets.   

According to Vladimir Bolea, the ministry’s team is aware of the situation emerged in the agriculture; therefore, it is concerned about the finding of solutions to reduce the impact, the consequences of the present crises on the agricultural producers. ‘’The serious situation dealing with the drought was fostered by the decrease in the prices of inputs and the energy crisis and the one triggered by the war in Ukraine led to the impoverishing of the residents. All these prompted the government to take diverse measures, in order to back the producers on the agrarian dimension,’’ the minister said.    

„We have great plans, in order to turn this sector competitive and efficient. A strong agro-industrial sector means an insured country and this is the foremost goal of the Agriculture Ministry, which will implement policies of supporting the field, backed by the government and the development partners,’’ Bolea noted.  

The Day of the Employee from Agriculture and Processing Industry is marked in Moldova each year on the fourth Sunday of November.
