AIPA approved 267 investment projects through LEADER Program

Chisinau, Nov. 25 /MOLDPRES/- The Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA) announced yesterday that following the local calls within 37 Local Action Groups (LAG), 551 investment projects were selected and submitted for final approval. Currently, 267 projects have already been approved for financing by AIPA, and the value of the approved subsidy is about 33 million lei (about 1.65 million euros).
According to AIPA, 104 projects were approved for the public sector, the amount of the subsidy being about 13.4 million lei, which is at least 80% of the total value of the investments. By implementing investment projects, local public authorities will contribute to the renovation of rural towns.
"The entrepreneurial sector foresees 128 projects, the amount of the approved subsidy being about 15.8 million lei, which is at least 60% of the total value of the investments. The financial resources will be used for the development of rural enterprises/businesses. The civic sector has 38 projects, the value of the approved subsidy being about 3.4 million lei, which constitutes at least 85% of the total value of the investments", the cited source indicates.
For the first time, AIPA will support the initiatives of non-profit organizations that aim to contribute to solving the problems faced by rural communities, by supporting the activities of social services aimed at vulnerable groups and endowment of public educational institutions.
Through the LEADER Program, AIPA supports the implementation of local development strategies of local action groups and the creation of rural development opportunities by laying the foundations for identifying local needs, strengthening development capacity in order to preserve rural and cultural heritage, developing the economic environment and improving the organizational skills of communities local. The LEADER program is an instrument for subsidizing LAGs, administered by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of the Republic of Moldova and implemented by the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture, with the support of the LEADER National Network and Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova.
